The Maps
Traveling to Pos Kemar (Pos Kuala Mu) from Kuala Lumpur takes around 4.5 to 5.5 hours, while from Penang, it’s about 4 to 5 hours. In both cases, you’ll exit the North–South Expressway at Sungai Siput, then continue through Lasah and a series of Orang Asli villages before reaching the mountains.
The final 20–30 km is a rough gravel road with steep climbs and river crossings. A 4x4 vehicle or off-road motorcycle is highly recommended. Mobile signal is limited in this area, so be sure to download your maps in advance. Though the journey is remote, it offers beautiful scenery and leads to one of Perak’s most peaceful and authentic nature retreats.
